Quartz Lumps

Quartz Lumps, Grits & Powder

One of the most common and hardest minerals in the crust of the earth is quartz. It is highly valuable despite being readily available. We at SKKM constantly strive to use the most cutting-edge methods to deliver high-quality quartz goods in India.

Each oxygen atom is covalently shared between two silicon and oxygen atoms in the continuous SiO4 silicon-oxygen tetrahedra that make up the scientific composition, giving it the chemical formula SiO2.

The main way that quartz mineral differs from SIO2 is that it has a set composition that includes SIO2's silica along with a few other elements and impurities.

SKKM Quartz Products

Quartz Lumps

These are the lumps of snow-white quartz that we offer in various sizes to our customers. For best-in-class quartz lumps, we have some of the most cutting-edge equipment and storage facilities. In a variety of industries, including the glass and ceramics industries, they are widely used.

Quartz Powder

Our mines contain large, heavy quartz stones, which we crush to create one of the best quartz powders on the market. By using various grinding techniques, we offer variation in size and grade of Quartz Powder. The majority of the time, glasses are made with quartz powder.

Quartz Grits

Depending on the color, we make a few distinct kinds of quartz grits. White grits, transparent grits, and smokey quartz grits are a few of the grits that are offered. Most of the time, quartz grits are utilised to make quartz slabs.

How do we get Quartz?

By using open-pit mining, quartz can be extracted. Miners occasionally need to employ explosives in order to reveal a deep vein of the mineral, but this only happens in very rare circumstances. The reason it isn't done more often is that, despite its hardness, it is still susceptible to damage from unexpected temperature changes.

Bulldozers and backhoes are frequently used in mining operations to remove the soil & clay surrounding the mineral efficiently. After which, the crystal’s veins will become visible. Using picks, chisels, and other tiny hand tools, a group will collect quartz from the quarry after it is exposed to the surface.

Quartz needs to go through a meticulous, thorough cleaning process after the mining-based extraction process. That is done in order to remove all of the physical faults and chemical contaminants. After quartz has been fully cleaned, a specific crew will be in charge of screening it. Depending on its intended function, it will then be crushed into various sizes.

Quartz Reserves in India

The country's total reserve/resources of quartz and silica sand are estimated to be around 3,907.95 million tonnes, according to the NMI database. 647.53 million tonnes (17%) of this total are classified as reserved. 3.260.42 million tonnes (or 83%) more are classified as residual resources.

Application of Quartz

Quartz is used in numerous industrial applications due to its availability, crystalline nature, and strong thermal and chemical characteristics.

Quartz has been used in jewellery and as gemstones for ages. Quartz is a good material for this purpose due to its hardness, polishability, crystalline structure, and durability.

Quartz crystals are also utilised in electronics because they create current on their surface when bent or compressed. For many years, quartz crystals have been utilised to provide an exact frequency for all radio transmitters, receivers, GPS transmitters, and computers.

Quartz sand is used to make ceramic tiles in the ceramic industry. The silica in the sand contributes to the white colour of the ceramic ware and the formation of the ceramic body.

Quartz sand and ground quartz (quartz powder) are fillers used in the production of adhesives, putty, paint, and rubber. This powder has the following properties: durability, chemical inertness, strength, and wear resistance.

Packaging of Quartz

The Barite lumps we ship are available in xxkg - xxkg packs, the materials are properly packed with precise quantities, and will be supplied in suitable containers, such as high-quality air-tight plastic bags.
